Used heavy glass & light metal effects to create the lines & sheen.
This particular crab apple is growing wild. We have a lot of trees around – there was a project years ago to plant lots of these for their decorative qualities, blossoms & foliage, and they are hearty enough to survive the winter.
Some people will pick the apples and make crab apple jelly. Most let them hang for the birds and wildlife to feast upon.
I was trying to turn the weakness photographs into a strength, All the chaotic branches made for a messy composition – hard for the eye to know where to rest/focus. I think there is a better contrast and foreground & background with these changes .
Very icey images Joseph and what do you do with crabapples? eat them?

Interesting how those effects really change the image, must try them myself 🙂
I combined layer with the effect and the original image. Altered the layer settings depending on the effect I was going for.
So lacy and delicate.
