The View Remembered

The View Remembered

As August steps away,

The View Remembered –

Pages crack and corrode

with tinted thoughts.

The seconds shift

into grainy colours,

drifting down

into September –

Summer clings to sunlight,

brightly marking time

next to hard shadows.

  1. That can be read on several levels – you could even be talking about my life with paths cracking with tinted thoughts.

    1. Glad it resonated with you. I tried to to keep the imagery open without drifting into maudlin cliches . Working with an actual image broadens the interpretation with extra context. πŸ™‚

  2. Not too shabby at all my friend, not too shabby. (Thats understated Australianese for extremely good) The image of that poem clung to me and wouldn’t let me go until I re-read it.
