I got out my North American English to British English dictionary out to see that, of course, you meant “tyres” and “ploughs”. 😁 I think Webster had a lot to answer for in trying to ‘simplify’ the irrational spellings of the Victorians and their insular predecessors. November 24, 2021 at 11:55 am
