I watched a seagull sigh.
Higher and higher it sighed.
Like a jewel, I looked away,
Sawed not the many faceted
Tears in the shawl,
Weeping threads.
I wish I had an umbrella stand;
I’d sell umbrellas and origami cucumbers,
While the dog chased the shawl
As it rolled over shaving stones
And seashells sighed overhead – telling tales.
Lovely story, Joseph. Like a fable.
Thanks Ashley. 🙂

Loved the poem but was taken with the images. Are they photos?
Many thanks.
Yes, they started as photos. 🙂 They went through a bit of transformation – exposing the implied space.
Lovely imagery!
Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed the post. 🙂
